I fell off a cycle, and fell on my chin, about 9 months ago. The impact was fully absorbed by my teeth, and my ear on one side. After I could open my jaw a little, I was told that I all my teeth were moving, and that I had 2 split teeth that needed immediate attention. I got the other broken teeth filled for the time being, and began treatment. I had to have one of the two split teeth extracted because it had a vertical root fracture. The other one has a lesion and an infection and is still being treated. Apart from that, I have 7 teeth that aren't responding to the pulp test and have apparently died, along with severe pain on one side of my jaw. I haven't chewed anything harder than bread since I fell, and my teeth occasionally throb, ache, get sensitive and buzz. I've also finished another root canal. My endodontist, while brilliant, has no experience with trauma cases, and I'm wondering if it's normal to be undergoing treatment for this long. Please help. I'm desperate, and in pain

It's not possible to say exactly anything , it would be better that you consult with another dentist in your area , because by this time if any fracture it would have healed and if the teeth are dead then they all need an RCT.

You seem to be quite well aware of your case but sometimes knowing more than what you should cause mental depression, so I will suggest you to take another opinion from any reputed dentist or if you are in Delhi you can come and see me. Now as I can understand from the facts you have presented, when 7 of your teeth have become non vital, then they all need RCTs and it's pretty straight forward and if your treating dentist has not suggested this, go for another opinion, but I am sure you must be misunderstanding or getting confused. Kindly get your TMJ joint assessed on the affected side as the injury to it can make you unable to chew from that side. Rest unless I don't examine you I can't comment
Next Steps
Immediately see another dentist
Have a CBCT DONE on the affected side

Your case as u described injury of chin
Is indirect trauma in dental term
Where ur lower jaw closes forcefully against upper jaw
This can lead to fractures of teeth and bones cracks in teeth also
Sometimes they are not visible immediately it takes time may less than a month
U need complete clinical and radio graphical examination
And plan a proper rehabilitation
It is truly unfortunate that you are going through so much pain and discomfort post your trauma. Since you say that you have a lesion often it is difficult to complete root canal treatment until it fully resolves. Also, with trauma cases it often takes a fair amount of time for symptoms to manifest. A nonvital tooth can be asymptomatic for a long time and suddenly flair up at a later time causing pain so I can understand that the endodontist is taking a while to complete your treatment. Unlike regular decay, trauma cases need to be handled with additional precautions.
However the continued pain and discomfort is surprising. They normally can be controlled with medication and palliative treatment.
Based on your history, it is difficult to give a more definite answer about the course of treatment without checking clinically and your x-rays so if you are still hesitant getting a second opinion would be a good idea. Wish you a speedy recovery.
9 months is a quite sometime. Even if you had a fracture it would have been healed. I wished i was there to see you....could have been helpful as a Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Anyways its difficult to advise anything without through check up. Thus i advise you to follow your specialist for needful.

Hello Mam,
We can understand the pain and discomfort you are going through. As per your history many teeth seem to be involved post trauma. The healing of leasons generally do take their own time.So things cannot be hastened to finish off the treatment. You need to have patience and follow the instructions and keep up the appointments as suggested by your dentist.you can also consult a maxillo-facial surgeon to rule out any fractures in the area.Good luck.
