Abdominal pain
My sister 27yr old, having pain in abdomen in episodes, between two episodes, she is very fine, but in each episode there is soo much pain, pain is on left side more from ribs to inguinal region, she has taken treatment, tab dicyclomine, Cap Omeprazole, SYP sufracil, tap paracetamol, tab metronidazole, But not relieved on this medication, Slightly relief on changing position, Can you tell me treatment for this? As we will  do USG abdomen, but for now immediate relief,

From the history you saying after taking painkiller and antispasmodic the pain is not reduced so this is something serious By taking USG Abdomen and pelvis we can rule out certain things and we will get idea If any history of fever we have to check for any infections

It sounds like she’s dealing with kidney stones since the pain travels from her ribs to her groin in waves.The USG abdomen is the right next step to get a clear answer.

Until you get USG results, you can try heat therapy a warm compress or hot water bottle can help relax muscles and cramps. If its a kidney stone, drinking plenty of water and keeping her very well hydrated sometimes helps if a small stone is trying to pass.. eat easy to digest foods to avoid digestive irritation. If the pain is gas related, light walking may help move the gas.

Go to Emergency immediately If she develops a high fever, vomiting, blood in her urine or stool, or if the pain becomes unbearable.

If not relief by medicine ,then you go for usg whole abdomen. Because prescribed drug is good and abdominal pain gone after taking this in 3 to 4 days.so better if you go for usg.

Avoid spicy and oily foods. Avoid swallowing of air(Like sipping tea) Avoid tea, avoid smoking and tobacco, avoid soft drinks, Alchohol. Eat small frequent meals. Eat slowly and chew all foods before swallowing Do regular exercise at least 1 hour daily. Abdominal exercises are very helpful in this case alongwith running and jogging.  Drink plenty of water, high fibre diet. *STOP TAB DICYCLOMINE AND PARACETAMOL 1. TAB. BUSCOGAST PLUS - 1TAB BD x 7 DAYS 2. CONTINUE OMEPRAZOLE 20 MG OD BEFORE BREAKFAST x 7 DAYS 3. CONTINUE SYP. SUFRACIL AND TAB. METRONIDAZOLE

INVESTIGATIONS: CBC, LFT, RFT, RBS, S.AMYLASE, S.LIPASE, USG WHOLE ABDOMEN.

Please share detailed history of her symptoms. Take tab meftal spas one every 8hours for 2  to 3 days. Get stool for ova and cysts, ultrasound abdomen done and share results. Then I can help you to heal.
