Abdominal pain
I used to have fissure & bleeding sometimes since years. I got a surgery called Kshar sutra done in june 2025. I thought I was getting normal. But since a month again I have been getting pain & even a day if I skip laxative or sitz bath or anesthetic ointment, I end up in lot of pain. Doctor said it's because of stress. But when I had been for fever to a nearby physician, he checked & said the fissure is still there & muscle isn't relaxed. So another surgery should be done. All 4 months of pain, trauma went waste. Now, I can't go for surgery as I have lot of responsibilities at home & I've been undergoing so many surgeries since age 7 as a lorry accident survivor. I also have another neck surgery to go through. And have exams till may. So till then if there are any natural ways to relax the fissure muscle & heal it please let me know. I also used to eat lot of slate bars & shale stones. Could that have caused any other problems? I have left lower abdomen pain

you can start taking Avipattikar churn..half tsp with warm water at bed time..it's a mild laxative..Also you can apply Jatyadi oil on your anal fissure area..before sleep n after bath..this will heal that area n will lessen your pain

Namastey Even after Kshar Sutra, some patients may develop a chronic anal fissure due to persistent spasm of the anal sphincter muscle. When this muscle remains tight, blood supply to the area reduces, healing slows down or stops, and pain tends to return as soon as laxatives, sitz baths or local ointments are discontinued. Stress can worsen this muscle spasm, but it is not the only cause of the problem. On examination, the fissure may still be present along with increased muscle tightness. The good news is that cases of chronic anal fissure can be treated and managed conservatively also but ONLY DEPENDING ON KSHARA SUTRA WITHOUT THE CORRECTION OF DIETARY AND LIFESTYLE PATTERNS; will not give you the permanent cure. HARD STOOLS, RAW AND DRY FOODS INTAKE, chronic diarrhea, inadequate fiber and fluid intake, excessive use of spicy foods, and poor local hygiene; all contributes for the occurence of Fissure in ano. Kshara sutra is done to cut out the enlarged and inflamed skin tags but not primarily the root cause, that's why it is recurring.
Next Steps
Ensure daily soft stools; avoid skipping stool softeners or fiber supplements abruptly. Correct dietary habits: increase fiber (fruits, vegetables), fluids, and avoid raw, dry, spicy, and junk foods. Maintain adequate hydration throughout the day. Follow regular warm sitz baths (15–20 minutes, twice daily), especially after bowel movements. Use local healing and muscle-relaxing ointments/oils as prescribed, regularly and gently. Avoid straining, prolonged sitting on the toilet, and suppressing the urge to pass stools. Improve lifestyle habits: regular bowel timing, light physical activity, and stress-management practices. Maintain proper local hygiene without excessive rubbing or harsh soaps.
Health Tips
Drink 1–2 glasses of warm water immediately after waking up. Maintain a fixed time for bowel movement; do not delay or force stools. Include fiber-rich foods daily (papaya, pear, oats, vegetables). Avoid raw, dry, spicy, fried foods, bakery items, and excessive tea/coffee. Walk for 20–30 minutes daily to improve bowel movement. Use warm sitz bath regularly to reduce pain and muscle spasm. Apply local ointment gently and consistently; do not stop suddenly once pain reduces. Avoid prolonged sitting; use a soft cushion if sitting for long hours. Do not strain or sit on the toilet for more than 5 minutes. Practice deep breathing or relaxation techniques to reduce anal muscle spasm.
