2nd and 3rd metatarsal fracture
I had my 2nd and 3rd metatarsal fracture 2 months ago by kicking my locked door bare foot. I had a half cast for about 21 days and when i showed it to a doctor, xray showed no improvement so he asked me to go for full synthetic plaster which i kept it for about 28 days and I had to remove it as I had go for an interview. After removing that plaster i took an xray which still shows the fracture with very little improvement. I don't know whats is the problem here. Doctor gave me calcium tablets for 20 days and 3 capsules of vitamin d when i went for the full plaster thing. Now i am confused what should i do. I am attaching xray of 1 week before removing the cast and the day i removed my cast. Please guide me! What should I do. Do i need to have more calcium and vitamin or will it heal on its own.

It is unusual to got fracture by simple kicking the door. You must check your S. Vitamin D3 status, many time very kow vitamin D3 level leads to stress fracture. Recovery seems to be okay, being a narrower bones, here bone to bone contact is less, and it may take little longer period for new bone formation.  if pain is reduced cv and clinically you feel much better, not to worry much for xray picture

Xray which you have shared is showing signs of fracture healing. It takes 4-5 months for complete fracture healing which can be seen on x-ray. However , healing can be appreciated clinically as pain at the fracture site goes away and you can walk comfortably. There can be some swelling which will go away on its own.
