2 year old baby girl
My baby is 2 year old and she is habitual of thumb sucking . Everyone told me to stop her but dr told me this is normal behaviour . Every told me if she continues then her teeth will be affected . It came out in front . Is this true ?

Hi ..2 year old kid is too gentle and will never listen to your instructions. Stay calm and don’t worry many kids does same at this particular age . Till 3 year age it’s ok if child continues to do same get a consultation with kids dentist they can guide you and child stepwise in proper way . Yes thumb sucking is not good habit it harms the permanent teeth and make them.erupt in wrong way .

Yes,Thumb sucking habit is normal till 2 to 2.5 years. If she does`nt quit the habit after she is 4 year old then do visit a local pediatric dentist.

Thumb sucking of 2 year child is normal , but it do affect the teeth so you can contribute & help your child to quit this habit, most of the kids quits this habit on their own by age of 2to4 .

Hi, yes babies will have a habit of sucking their thumb but it is not good instead harmful and we should not entertain this habit. First thing is that whatever dirt present in their fingers enters inside, secondly, thumb sucking habit not only leads to irregular teeth it changes the bone shape also

Thumbsucking habit is not good for ur baby .Try to avoid mostly before the age of 3.just involve the baby in other activities like small games n learning skills. Just divert his concentration. Thumbsucking leads to improper alignment of teeth ,also changes the jaw shape.... Prevention is better than cure.

Thumb sucking habit is normal till age of 3. It’s always better to early intervention. Whenever u see chat sucking the thumb just tap him and tell not to do it. Kids start avoiding ur words if u r saying repeatedly so tapping is important. There are various other methods are also available on internet.

These are all behavioural habits and are considered normal upto the age of four years. You should try to break your child’s habit but don’t force the child to do it. Thumb sucking has deleterious effect on the front teeth of a child. It leads to protrusion or forward placement of upper front teeth.
