I've been to counseling, she mentioned PTSD and severe anxiety from my childhood but I'm worried I have something serious. Symptoms are chest pain, scary fast heart rate, panic attacks occasionally, violent mood swings, severe anger at times, depression at other times. I've always thought I had anxiety and I have had issues with being so sick I've passed out, thought maybe symptoms of bipolar but I don't necessarily have a "manic" state (but some things may be considered close?)

Hello dear,
See it's quite common..infact in upto 60% cases anxiety and depressive symptoms are comorbid..I mean they occur together or in sequence... Diagnosis depends on symptoms at onset..severity.. Off course Depression is given preference over anxiety disorder if syndromic...But relax treatment options are quite the same but the approach differs...So trust your Psychiatrist judgement for that... regards
