Why mantoux test
Dr suggested mantoux test fir My wife(breast feeding mom @24 years, 7 months baby). ESR is 22, and wbc 11300, mass in left armpit since few months. No other symptoms. Why this test ?? Will it be useful for diagnosis for other problem?

Yes this test is useful for diagnosis of Koch or tuberculosis... Test results of Mantoux is within 48 hr to 72 hr of injection... and if there is induration of More then 15mm in normal human is sign of positive test mean you have been infected with TB bacteria at some time... And it's also chance of false positive results...
And high esr with positive Mantoux required further confirmatory report like x-ray chest or usg abdominal...
