Why does itching legs give dry skin

I am 45 year old female. I work in an air conditioned room. Due to this my skin is getting dryer day by day. Wearing jeans and pants makes my leg skin dry and itching. There is a lot of itching on my legs. Can you tell me what is treatment of itching on the legs?
