Hi there. Thanks for the clear pics. Diagnosis of fungal infection is pretty straightforward. Scraping and KOH stain will confirm. Treatment should ideally be a combination of a topical lotion and oral antifungal to be taken/applied for one week more than clinical clearance of lesions for best results and to prevent recurrences. Partner/s and fomites also to be treated simultaneously to avoid spread and recurrences. For best outcomes, do connect directly in person if from Bangalore or Online using this App's INSTANT ONLINE Consultation or related app's like Apollo 24/7 🙏

• The lesions appear annular (ring-shaped) with a scaly border, which is most suggestive of a fungal infection (tinea corporis / tinea cruris) • Location near the lower abdomen and groin with whitish scaling and spread pattern further supports a dermatophyte infection • Not suggestive of vitiligo (no complete depigmentation) or a birthmark Next Steps • Assess for spread to other areas and any contributing factors like sweating, tight clothing, or recurrence • Check if there is family member involvement, as fungal infections can spread Helpful Tips / Words of Caution • Keep the area dry and sweat-free • Avoid tight or synthetic clothing; prefer loose cotton wear • Do not share towels/clothes to prevent spread • Avoid using steroid-containing creams, as they can worsen and mask fungal infection • Maintain good hygiene but avoid over-washing or harsh soaps Kindly consult with me via practo for detailed evaluation and treatment
