Some things are just beyond control. However, its better people do all necessary health related regular precautionary check up with doctors for early detection if such cases. The earlier the detection, the better chance of saving somebody's life

I am sorry for your loss.
Unfortunately its economics
Pharma companies are the ones that run the medical industry, it is not in their best interest to fund researches which will cure /diagnose /prevent cancer.
All you can do is educate yourself and your loved ones better. Have a good insurance plan
Hopefully someday soon, i can give you a solution.
