I live in a rented house, with my house owner having his own room. He was away for quite some time. Recently i talked with my friends they said you look like you've lost weight, i have body dysmorphia ocd. My anxiety peaked up and out of this, i did a stupid thing. I have mirror in my bathroom but its a small one, so since no one was in the house, I stupidly entered his room to see if any big mirror is there to check myself. I did, and while doing that i left my specs in his room smwhwere. His frnd came after a while and found my specs there and confronted me what i was doing. I again out of anxiety said there was some noise coz of which i went to his room lst night and i might have left the specs there. But sure as hell they find it weird and think i was there to steal something. But in reality i had no ill intentions and it was just a stupid OCD of mine. I wanna assure them i will never do again.. :( what to do in this situation? I am also embarrassed of opening abt this hlth issue!

Hi dear,
You should not be embarrassed of your ocd situation. Just tell them the truth, and they will understand it. If you keep telling lies, then they will doubt you forever. So the best option here is to tell them about your problem and why you went in their room. If you feel a lack of confidence, then consult online. By therapies, your embarrassment of ocd will be cured. Connect for proper guidance.
It sounds like you're facing a challenging situation and you're feeling embarrassed and anxious about it. Here are some steps you might consider taking to address the situation and help alleviate your worries:
Honesty: It's important to be honest, especially when you're dealing with a misunderstanding. You could approach your house owner or their friend and explain the situation truthfully. You can share that you were dealing with some anxiety and that you entered the room without ill intentions due to your compulsions related to body dysmorphia OCD.
Apologize: Express your sincere apologies for any discomfort or misunderstanding your actions may have caused. Let them know that you understand your behavior might have seemed odd and that you didn't mean to create any negative impression.
Explain Your Condition: If you're comfortable, consider explaining your struggle with body dysmorphia OCD. You don't have to go into great detail if you're not ready, but sharing a bit about your health condition might help them understand your behavior better.
Assure Them: Let them know that you recognize that your actions might have been inappropriate and that you won't repeat such actions in the future. Reassure them that you have no intention of invading their privacy or causing any harm.

Hi... Who diagnosed you with BDD or OCD? If you have a clinical diagnosis/prescription by a Psychiatrist, you can show your consultation/prescription receipt to your owner. If you do not have one, I would suggest not to mention it, as it will look more like an excuse than a reason. In such cases where we know we have made a mistake, providing an unconditional apology without any excuse is the best what we can do. Any reason given would rather appear more as a sign of self justification than a real cause. Most people are likely to accept an unconditional apology when the mistake has occurred for the first time and we have otherwise good/neutral relationship with the concerned person.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist.
CBT along with Interpersonal Guidance and Counselling is required.
Consult a Psychiatrist for a medical diagnosis.
