Hello doctor
I'm 32 yr old male ,6 ft tall , weighing 90kgs. Till the age of 21(till my college days) I was very healthy, active and energetic with a good athletic physique weighing 75kgs.
Once after entering into IT, I was unable to hit gym or exercise regularly. So getting into sedentary lifestyle made me gain a weight of 15 kgs in 10 years. Now I'm 90kg. Feeling heavy. Energy levels are completely down , fat deposit around belly and thighs.
Now, do I have to lose weight or fat ? I'm confused. I have a good physique and I don't want to loose the muscle mass, at the same time , I want to lose the belly fat and look good within the BMI range.

I understand your concern about the weight gain and the toll it takes on your mental health. Also it's because of your profession that you have to follow a sedentary lifestyle. But worry not. Exercise is just a cherry on top. The art of healthy living lies mostly on your food habits. I am not implying that you need to starve. You need to design your everyday diet so that you maintain a calorie deficit. Stop packaged foods, cool drinks, sugars, milk products, rice and bread. We have loads of healthy options. You can have boiled vegetables, sprouts, oats, quinoa, vegetable soups, etc. You can exercise during weekends.
