It sounds really tough and I want to reassure you: what you’re describing is an OCD intrusive thought + mental image not a reflection of who you are or your character.
This is your OCD creating sticky intrusive thoughts, not a reflection of who you are. The more you try to push the image away, the more it feels stuck like Fevicol. Remind yourself: “This is just OCD, not me.” Let the thought be there without fighting it, and gently bring focus back to the present. With practice, it will lose its power.
Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.
Hi,
Seems like this is something distressing for you and the persistent thoughts are making it all the more uncomfortable.
It helps to talk to someone completely non judgemental. Just some one who can hear all the thoughts, all the feelings associated with this event. And have it acknowledged. Sometimes thoughts that aren't accepted can persist, it's as though someone is saying something and the other is not hearing it and they try to say it even louder. So, start there. If the feeling persists and is causing distress, please reach out and talk to a psychotherapist.
Next Steps
Talk to someone who can hold a non judgemental space.
Hello, are you on medication? If yes, hope you are getting your medicines timely. If you are not on medication, please consult a psychiatrist.
Next Steps
Seeing something like this is distressing, that too when it is from a close family member. But please consider that these are also body parts and nothing new about it.
You have seen it mistakenly and don't want to remember, but if you try to vanish the thought forcefully you will feel more uncomfortable. Let it pass by itself with time.
Health Tips
Along with the medication, you can consider talking to a therapist. This will help you.
