What can be the cause?
I have a palpable(feels like a seed, firm and movable, but no pain) pre-auricular lymph node. Which a nearby ENT checked, he said it's within normal range. And when I put my finger below the ear region, and open mouth, it feels sore, only on one side(same side of the node).
Apart from that, after a viral, probably influenza only, i am having sore throat since a month. Had 2 rounds (5 + 10 days) of antibiotics already. (Ceftum + cefpodem xp). But the sore throat, which is being caused be post nasal drip, is not resolving. Sometimes i need to clear throat(phlegm), sometimes its PND. Is this Asthma?
And coming back to the lymph nodes, i read in some other post on practo that hard lymph node means cancer? Is that true? I am terrified of that :(.
Please guide me how to go through this.
Day after tomorrow, i am leaving for UK. Which is why its more worrisome for me. Help me out please.

Hello. A detailed history and thorough examination is necessary to ascertain your diagnosis. Any ear discharge? Any tooth ache? Any eye symptoms? Any other associated symptoms? Also did your lymph nodes hypertrophy before or after the sore throat? According to your complaints it mostly seems like Reactive Lymphadenitis to Chronic Pharyngitis. There are many other structures in the Preauricular region as well like the TMJ which it seems is tender in your case. So kindly get a complete consultation. Hope this helps.
Next Steps
USG neck with specific comment on Cervical Lymph nodes. This will help give an idea of the echotexture of the lesion. FNAC if the USG report advices it.
