Weight loss of new born at 13 days
Hello, I have a new born 13 days ago. Her weight at time of delivery was 3.4kg. i started having breast milk from day 4. But my daughter sleeps a lot and will not feed while sleeping. She needs to be awake. Hence my feed is generally at interval of 4 hours. And at night i will feed her at 12 am and then next feed will be 7 am. Now my baby weighs 3.1 kg at 13th day. Is this ok or something is not right?

Feed her once in 2-3hrs in morning and a gap of 4hrs can be allowed in night. Beyond 4hrs may lead the baby to dehydration and inadequate weight gain..

Hi, You need to feed the babies every2-3 hrly day and night. Babies do not cry for feeds, so you need to feed them regularly.
Next Steps
Babies sleep for more than 18 hrs, so wake them and feed.

Give feeds every 3 hrs atleast. Up to 8 to 10 feeds u should give. Initially 10% wt loss is normal and acceptable for most babies. But do changes as above.
