Weight gain
My 2 month 22 days baby weight is 4.88kgs. His birth weight is 3kgs. He has been suffering from cough since last 2 weeks and is under its medication prescribed by the doctor. Doctor said to improve the weight and i increased diet and drinking lot of water still the result is same. So can i introduce one or two times formula feed.??? Does it improve the weight gain???

In first few months weight gain is 20 to 30 gm per day..ie 600 to 900 gm per month.so your child weight should be bw 4.2 to 4.8 kg and you  should be happy its on higher end.Continue breastfeeding ensure night time feeds..only breastmilk is sufficient upto 6 months of age...monitor weight every one month. Formula feeds should be avoided unless indicated.
