Normally it is not required, because breast milk contains lot water. But to divert the attention of baby and clean mouth after feed , you may give driking water ie UV fitered water a few sips of water can be given with utmost care to avoid infection.

Breastfeeding is the only feed which you should give to your baby till 6 months of age. Breastmilk itself has 80-90% water, so any other top food is not needed or advised. During hiccups also, start breastfeeding the baby followed by proper burping for atleast 8-10min.

Greetings, Water content of breast milk is 88 percent, so even In a hot summer, water is not required till 6 months. For hiccups - Please keep the baby upright for 10 minutes after feeding and even if the hiccups are continous then feed the baby again for 5 minutes.
