Want to know about wound healing process

I'm a student looking for a project that keeps on monitoring the wounds of the patient and notifies us on the correct time to change the dressing on the wound. i wanted to know that , on what basis we come to know that the dressing on the wound should be change. so i can create a system which will notify us on the correct time for changing. thank u
