What is the current weight of child?? What is a sex of a baby?? Present weight and sex is important to decide the further management. If child is gaining adequate weight and vomitting, this can be normal in low birth weight babies.
If child is not gaining adequate weight and vomiting, there are two possibilities in this child
1) Bottle feeding can lead to areophagia ( increased gases are passed in the stomach because of bottle feeding) which leads to vomitings.
2) Low birth and preterm childrens can have GER ( decreased resistance of lower oesophagus ( food pipe) valve and lead to back return of milk and lead to vomitings.
3) in a male child few babies can have a condition called CHPS( Congenital Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis) it means tight stomach valve so milk can not pass ahead and return back and lead to vomitings
Next Steps
visit neonatologist/ pediatrician, check weight, stop bottle feeding immediatly and start feeding with wati spoon.Bottle feeding is harmful. if vomiting persists Do ultrasound abdomen and milk scan of baby as per advice of pediatrician
Health Tips
nurse baby in a slight elevated head end position.burp for 10 to 15 min.after each feeding.
