Hi. I am 37 years old...I am suffering from vitiligo for last 12 years...and I am already under allopathic treatment since then...I am taking my oral medicines regularly and using my ointments on patches regularly but my patches is not stable since now. I am also taking immune suppression medicine in Good doses  but no  positive response. Now I want to switch on to ayurveda for my treatment... My queries are (1) If I switch to ayurvedic medicine instantly and if my immune suppression medicine that  i am consuming for many years is stopped then my white patches will start increasing at higer speed? (2) Can I start taking ayurvedic medicines and continue my allopathic medicines at same time??

This condition can be effectively managed in Ayurveda Proper blood purification is required initially using proper medications But Its not better to stop the immunosuppressant instantly without any advise , Will switch to Ayurveda for better results if needed without stopping the current medications . & we can stop it later on by considering the dose You can use Ayurveda and allopathy safely if managed correctly with a professional advise .

Hello, Thank you for explaining your condition in detail. I understand how difficult it can be to deal with Vitiligo for such a long time, especially when you have been taking regular treatment but still not getting stable results. Many patients with long-standing vitiligo face similar challenges. Let me clarify your doubts one by one. 1️⃣ Stopping immune suppression medicines suddenly If immunosuppressive medicines that you have been taking for years are stopped suddenly, sometimes the immune activity may increase again and patches can become active. Therefore, I usually advise gradual transition rather than abrupt stopping. When we start Ayurvedic treatment, we slowly stabilize the disease and then taper other medicines safely if required. 2️⃣ Can Ayurveda be started along with allopathic medicines? Yes, in many cases Ayurvedic treatment can be started along with your current medicines. The medicines work through different mechanisms, mainly focusing on correcting immune imbalance, digestion (Agni), and blood purification (Rakta Shuddhi). After the disease becomes stable, we can plan the next step accordingly. ✨ Advantages of Ayurvedic management in vitiligo: • Focuses on root cause correction, not only symptom control • Helps stabilize spreading patches • Supports natural repigmentation over time • Improves immunity and digestion, which are very important in vitiligo • Long-term management with minimal side effects when taken properly Along with medicines, I also guide my patients regarding diet, lifestyle, and triggers which play a very important role in controlling the disease. If you wish, you can consult me online through Practo. I will evaluate: • Your current medicines • Duration and spread of patches • Previous treatment response • Diet and lifestyle factors Based on this, I can create a personalized Ayurvedic treatment plan for you. With proper guidance and patience, many patients start seeing stabilization and gradual improvement. Take care, and feel free to reach out for consultation.

Ayurveda goes beyond reports—we treat the person, not just the numbers. In many such cases, Ayurveda has shown excellent results because it works on the root cause. I strongly believe—“jo kahin se nahi hota, woh Ayurveda se hota hai.” Answering your first question—yes, you can consider shifting completely to Ayurveda. If a treatment is not giving you the desired benefit, it’s natural to question continuing it. What’s more important is choosing a path you trust and following it consistently. Ayurveda focuses on correcting the underlying imbalance through medicines, lifestyle, and if required, Panchakarma therapies. This helps in long-term healing rather than temporary control. Also, following two different systems for the same condition often creates confusion and dilutes results. It’s always better to choose one approach with clarity and commitment. With the right Ayurvedic treatment and discipline, you can definitely see meaningful improvement.
