First, see if there is any deficiency of Vitamin D. If there is no deficiency, regular balanced diet and sun exposure are usually enough. You can also give 600 IU per day for preventing Vitamin D deficiency. If there is a deficiency, the child needs 3000 to 6000 IU per day.
60000IU is better avoided in any case.
This is high dose vitamin D which should be given under supervision of a pediatrician only. A daily dose of 600 IU can be given. Please visit a pediatrician. Overdose can be harmful
Vitamin D is helpful for growing children but giving it in excess can be very harmful. Contact your pediatrician, do investigation and then start according to your pediatrician
Well, if the child is not deficient, daily requirement can be fufilled with diet containing milk, egg yolk, cheese, yogurt, mushrooms.
Before starting supplements on a regular badis please get Vitamin D levels checked, if by chance levels are good we dont want to unnecessarily give supplements.
Still of you want to go ahead depaite confirmed deficiency start with lower dose of 600-800IU daily. Can go upto 1000 IU for 3 months. Get tested done thereafter.
