Hello Night pains: Likely due to low Vitamin D and calcium imbalance, leading to growing pains or muscle cramps. May also relate to poor weight gain and low muscle tone. Frequent oral ulcers: Suggestive of nutritional deficiencies – like Vitamin B-complex, iron, and zinc. Also common in children who eat poorly or are picky eaters. Underweight: Likely not getting enough calories, proteins, and nutrients. Could be due to poor appetite, poor food choices, or undiagnosed underlying issues (e.g., worm infestation, malabsorption).
Next Steps
Start Vitamin D3 supplement (as per pediatrician’s dose, usually 600–1000 IU/day or as a high-dose weekly course for deficiency). Give Calcium + B-Complex syrup/tablet. Consider multivitamin with zinc and iron if appetite is poor. Nutrition Advice: High-protein diet: include milk, eggs, dal, paneer, sprouts, groundnuts. Add healthy fats like ghee, peanut butter, or nuts. Frequent small meals, even if appetite is low. Ensure 1 glass milk + 1 egg daily if non-vegetarian. 3Sunlight Exposure: At least 30 minutes of morning sunlight on face, arms, legs daily. Deworming: If not done in past 6 months, deworming with Albendazole may be needed. Follow-up & Monitoring: Re-check weight and vitamin D levels in 3 months. If ulcers persist or worsen, further evaluation may be needed.

Hello parent! It will be helpful if I had the exact lab values here. You can safely take if levels are in severe deficiency range: 1 sachet of Calcirol ( 60, 000 iu) in a cup of milk - once a week for 6 weeks Repeat vitamin d test after another week of finishing the course You will require maintenance doses of vitamin d or still more high dose supplementation as required after further reports Encourage cheese, curd, buttermilk, paneer for the child. At least 3 cups of milk or equivalent conversion of these foods per day is to be consumed. They should be preferably be fortified with vitamin D, so choose wisely such foods and cereals which are fortified with vitamin d To increase weight I would like to check the Hb of the child too and have a detailed history of any medical illness as well as dietary history
