Vit A camp
Hi, My son has got running nose today and sneezed. I gave 2.5mg cetrizine today. Since there is Vit A drops camp organised by Tamilnadu Govt till 28th Feb , I planned to go to Anganwadi tomorrow to get Vit A drops for my son. But today he got cold. Is it safe to take vitA now?

Yes, it is safe to give Vitamin A even if your child has a mild cold. A simple running nose and sneezing without high fever or severe illness is not a contraindication for Vitamin A supplementation. You can proceed if: No high fever Child is active No severe vomiting or diarrhea No serious illness Mild cold, cough, or allergy symptoms are not a problem. If the child develops high fever, is very dull, or unwell, then you can postpone until he recovers. Cetirizine does not interfere with Vitamin A, so that is also fine. So in this situation, you can safely take him to the Anganwadi for the Vitamin A drops.
