This rash is due to heat and sweat getting trapped in the diaper area and is common in babies. It is harmless and usually settles on its own. Keep the diaper area clean, cool, and dry. Change diapers frequently and allow some diaper-free time each day so the skin can breathe. Avoid tight diapers and dress the baby in loose, breathable cotton clothing. Clean the area gently with plain water and avoid excessive soaps or wipes. Do not apply thick or greasy creams for now, as they can block sweat further. No medicines are needed at this stage. If the rash becomes red, oozing, painful, or does not improve, please consult again.
