Vaccine side effect
My mom at age 12 in her schooling vaccinated with Whooping cough vaccine and that didn't go well for her. She got whooping cough the very next day because of the vaccine shot and suffered for almost 6 months with it in a very severe condition. After that experience she never had another vaccine in her life. And now she is deeply sceptical about getting COVID-19 vaccine.

As they say, Covid 19 is a novel virus. That means we are still learning about the behaviour of this virus. There is no old literature available to learn about this virus.
Whooping cough is a bacterial infection which affects Respiratory System. So that much in common with Covid.
