Unexpected period during ovarian supp
Patient is having heavy periods two weeks after taking lupride injection. This treatment has been going on for two years and the patient have not had periods during this whole time. Statistically is this possible or something else is wrong? The oncologist and gynaecologist both say this is unexpected but nothing to worry about.

Hi,      Your patient is having breakthrough bleeding while on ovarian suppression. Please check FSH  LH and estradiol levels. If they are in post menopausal range go for gynecological examination to check for the cause of bleeding. If they are in premenopausal range , u need to go for tamoxifen and continue leuprolide injection, once the values reach post menopausal range, you can go with letrozole plus leuprolide
