Hi my mother had her routine mammogram revealed 6.5 cm hamartoma in left breast without any symptoms. Is that dangerous, what is the treatment for that??

An hamartoma is rarely dangerous and is not malignant. So there is no reason to worry. The only point of concern is the size which is large and needs to be attended to

Though hamartoma is classical in radiological examination, as the lump is 6.5 cm, it needs to be biopsied to confirm that it is hamartoma and not a malignant lump. even if it is a hamartoma, due to the sheer size of lump I would advice for surgical excision of the breast lump after a biopsy
