Hi, I see cases like yours almost daily—uneven or asymmetric rib cages are more common than you think. It could be a form of chest wall asymmetry, like mild scoliosis or pectus deformity, which often starts becoming noticeable in the teenage years. While many cases are harmless, some can cause discomfort, postural issues, or breathing restriction over time. The prognosis depends on the cause and severity. If it’s causing you ongoing discomfort, there are options—from posture correction and physical therapy to surgical consultation if needed. Please feel free to send clear pictures, and I’ll guide you further.
Next Steps
1. Send clear photos 2. Get a chest X-ray and ideally a spine X-ray (PA and lateral views) 3. If symptoms are worsening or affecting your breathing/posture 4. Posture-focused physiotherapy 5. Based on findings, we’ll decide if you need just observation, therapy, or further intervention.
Health Tips
Tips: • Maintain good posture—avoid slouching. • Strengthen back and core muscles with light exercises. • Do regular stretching if you sit for long hours. Cautions: • Avoid heavy chest workouts without guidance. • Don’t use braces or devices without medical advice.
