Ultrasonic scaling on Implant tooth
Hi, I have one Implant tooth on lower incisor, and its healthy one. As suggested by dentist, I should regularly get scaling done. What precautions shall I take befor scaling as I have Implant tooth?

Hello sir.. To clean the implant teeth usually Piezo electric scaler with Non metallic Tips are used Home care to maintain implant teeth : Clean at least twice a day with a soft-bristle toothbrush. Use a low-abrasive toothpaste. Brush under and around the implant crown. Use a nylon coated interdental brush to clean hard-to-reach places. Floss daily with unwaxed tape or implant-specific floss. Use a recommended oral irrigator.

Hi.. You must definitely get scaling done for an implant tooth but please make sure that ultrasonic scalers are not used. Instead, use plastic hand instruments which are designed to clean implant tooth surface only. If Ultrasonic scalers are used, it can cause scratches on implant surface, make it more rough and thus accumulate more plaque.
