Sir my father treatment is going on of pulmonary tb it has been 50 days since the treatment has started earlier it was 3+ afb but now the doctor has again asked to do a report of sputum for afb so please tell me why he asked this will the infection is gone in 50 days

Normally, for any disease, follow up  investigations are done.similarly,to know  the improvement ,and to monitor the treatment, sputum for Afb, is done after 2 months,after intensive phase.o need not worry. Pl consult Pulmonologist online with all the reports and treatment taken.
