Tetanus booster is repeated usually every 5 years. Will still require detailed history and for further advice kindly consult.

Medical Advice: Since you received two doses of the Tetanus Toxoid (TT) vaccine during pregnancy four years ago, you likely have some level of protection, as TT provides immunity for 3-5 years. However, since you got a splinter in your nail today, the risk of tetanus depends on: The type of object (rusty/dirty metal or wood increases risk) and The depth and cleanliness of the wound. Recommendation: 1️⃣ If your last TT dose was more than 4 years ago, getting a TT booster shot (Tetanus Toxoid) is recommended. 2️⃣ If the wound is deep, dirty, or bleeding, a TT booster is advisable, even within 5 years as an extra precaution. 3️⃣ Clean the wound thoroughly with soap and water and apply an antiseptic (prescribed by doctor). 4️⃣ If the object was rusty, dirty, or contaminated, consult with me or to your doctor regarding TIG, especially if you haven’t had a full tetanus vaccination series in the past.
