Treatment with CBD rich oil

Hi, my brother is suffering from severe autism. His behaviour is self injurious, no speaking ability, no eye contact. I have read that cannabis derived CBD rich oil can be effective in some cases for calming/controlling such behaviours. What things should be kept in mind during the treatment. Are there any other alternatives. Thanks
