Travel after ventral umbrical hernia
I have ventral umbrical hernia surgery this month. I'm a mother of 4 kids. 1st kids 4yrs 1st pregnancy and triplets 2yrs 2nd pregnancy. My in-laws family is insisting to travel after 3 weeks of my surgery. I will be carrying the kids (any one in shift basis) in my husband's car. He will be driving. It's 10hrs travel. I have only 2 weeks help from my mom's end after surgery. Can I travel like that? My in-laws and husband needed to hear it from the doctor that I need rest and avoid travel. Pls advise

Since it’s been two weeks after your ventral hernia repair, you can travel if you’re feeling generally well. However, I’d strongly recommend using an abdominal support or binder around the incision area while traveling to protect the repair site. Please avoid lifting your child or carrying any heavy weight at this stage, as it can strain the healing tissues and increase the risk of recurrence. Gentle movement is fine, but any activity involving pressure on the abdomen should be avoided for now. If you notice any pain, swelling, or discomfort, get reviewed by your surgeon before traveling.

Do not lift heavy weight Take precautions to prevent cough and constipation
