Tramadol long-term use
My mother is suffering from osteoarthritis of knee and hip, she is excersicing daily , use hot and cold therapy, and physiotherapy, but her pain not relief , she takes Tramadol 100mg three times daily from one and half years. I want to is she can continue Tramadol for long-term

Taking painkiller is not the solution of the problem she is having in the knee. Try alternative sources of pain relief, and aim for management of the pathology. Rather than symptomatic relief which is temporary.

It’s already long term (18 months !!) And pain is not relieved as well because Tramadol only modulates the reaction to pain in the brain, does not act at the site of injury ( cartilage of the hip and knee joints) It’s not good for long term use

You are definitely taking a high dose. It is addictive and requires withdrawal under doctor supervision.
