Tooth ache and gum swelling due to decay
My wife is a nursing mother have severe tooth ache and mild swollen gums due to decay . Could you please suggest a medicine as a temporary treatment . Since I am in a remote Village as of now

Hello Sir,
From Immediate pain relief your wife can take T.Brufen 400mg (painkiller)twice daily (after breakfast and after dinner)or on an sos basis.
If the pain and swelling persist,she may need to start antibiotics: T.Augmentin 625mg/Mox CV 625mg twice daily((after breakfast and after dinner) for upto 5 days.
This is provided she is not allergic to above medication and with no other medical history.
It is recommended to get the necessary treatment for the tooth decay(filling or RCT) at the earliest to prevent any further infection.

Avoid very hot food/beverages as it may aggravate swelling and pain. Cold water/external ice pack can be applied. Also due to medication,your baby may experience loose motions. Advisable to get treatment at earliest.
