Toe wound not healing
55 y.o.male, has had diabetes for about 15+ years and diabetic neuropathy for around 8-10 years; under oral medication and insulin. His skin tone is deep, but the feet have appeared darker for the past few years. Both feet have white, dry patches despite regular cleaning and moisturization. Having this wound on his left big toe for the past 15-17 days; took cefpodoxime for a week. The wound has been kept open, cleaned daily using hydrogen peroxide or Dettol wash, and mupirocin ointment has been applied as per the advice of a local doctor. The wound appeared white and dry a few days ago but is now showing this appearance. Is this wound healing, or not? What exactly is this phase or condition of the wound showing?
