Hi doctor,
couple of years back, my daughter fell down on my Nose strongly. After that, I got face/cheeks pain and for few days and reduced
after 2-3 weeks, since the I have been getting Ringing sound in my left ear.
I did consult ENTs and they did few tests confirmed there is no issue with the Ear.
I did consult Neurologist and they did MRI head and neck confirmed there are no tumor etc.,
But what I observed is whenever I open my jaw wode I hear clicking sound and my tinnitus sound becomes horrible and when I close it reduces for a minute and comes back to normal sound after sometime.
What could be the issue? I doubt this is related to Jaw misalignment or may be something else?
What tests I need to do to confirm. Kindly reply

Please get your nose checked. It could be a nasal septal defect due to injury. If so then it is causing imbalance of inhaled air from the nasal septas from right and left side leading to high air pressure to left side and ear causing issue to ear (If the nasal septa is deviated more towards right) and movement of jaw is just trying to release the excess pressure.
Secondarily it could be TMJ disorder. That will be confirmed it you have any clicking sound, wide mouth opening or deviated jaw that could be evaluated by the dentist.
Next Steps
Take 2nd opinion for your nose to check for any nasal bone or nasal septa defects

Hi
Slightly it's sounds like Tempro mandibular joint disorder.
Plz visit to oral and maxillofacial surgeon as soon as possible they suggest uh permanent good solution.
From the history provided ,it looks like some kind of TMJ issue with occlusal derangement .
Please visit a dentist for detailed clinical examination and radiographic examination.
TMJ issues take some time to settle once appropriate therapy is started.
Tinnitus can also be caused due to certain medications, something which needs ruling out if not done so already!
TMJ issues can cause Somatic Tinnitus.
Hope that helps!
Hello,
The clicking sound is due to the TMJ joint near your ear.
Did the clicking sound of the jaw start before or after the trauma on your face? Did the MRI reveal any trauma to the TMJ joint?
The tinnitus could be because of the issues with the TMJ joint near your ear.
If the clicking started after the trauma, it could be due to trauma to the joint/chewing muscle/ the ligaments near the joint as well.
But if it was after, the root cause of the joint issue needs to be addressed, which could be the joint itself the chewing muscle, the ligaments or the nerve supply to the joint.
Next Steps
Visit a local dentist, preferably an oral surgeon, to guide you better
First of all you visit a maxillofacial surgeon. He will check examine and rule out weather this condition is due to tmj only or not . When you have difficulty opening mouth , then tmj is involved for sure but that tinnitus sound may be coming from somewhere else too .so a maxillofacial surgeon can look and let you know about the condition and treatment. if TMJ is only culprit , it can be treated with Low level laser therapy too followed by medication. Advanced tmj tissue needs certain medications to be injected at the site.
