I have noticed a bad smell lingering in my mouth for some time now. When I mix a little hydrogen peroxide in a water flosser and use it around all the teeth and gumline, I notice the odour disappears for a day or two and slowly the smell starts to come back. What's happening ? What's the solution ?

Hello
Improper brushing
Lack of proper hygeine
Coated tongue
Food impacted in embrasure
Insufficient water intake
All these cause bad breathe.
Next Steps
Learn correct brushing technique
Also use floss daily(not the one you are using, the manual flossing is needed)
Keep the tongue clean
Make sure there is no impacted food in between any teeth.
Health Tips
Visit a dentist.
if any deposits present, your teeth and gums might need scaling.
Hey hi, The bad smell returning after using hydrogen peroxide suggests that there is food debris or plaque trapped deep under the gum line that a flosser cannot reach. The peroxide only masks the odor temporarily by killing surface bacteria.
Next Steps
Please visit a dentist for a professional scaling and root planing (deep cleaning). This will remove the source of the infection. Also, check for any decayed teeth or food impaction areas that might be catching debris
Health Tips
Please use soft toothbrush after deep cleaning...also maintain oral hygiene to avoid repeats
The temporary relief from hydrogen peroxide suggests you are targeting surface bacteria, but the underlying sourceâlikely hardened calculus or a deep gum pocketâremains. Peroxide cannot dissolve these physical deposits, allowing bacteria to recolonize and the odor to return quickly.
Next Steps
Professional Scaling, do floss
Health Tips
Use a dedicated tongue scraper daily to remove sulfur-producing bacteria.
