Tinnitus and vitamin d deficiency
Hi team I'm 24 yrs old from Mumbai No history of ear issues since birth Earwax removal twice in childhood Don't listen to headphones for music only once in a while rarely Was on calls in office only for 1 year I have tinnitus in right ear only since March 2023 after a sinus infection and cold Immediately went to ENT specialist Audiogram revealed moderate SNHL on both ears Took medicines but no relief in tinnitus Changed ENT and nasal spur and adenoids were removed by surgery in Nov 2023 But tinnitus remained as it is Changed ENT again and went to another ENT for opinion They gave vitamin tablets for 1 month Vitamin D levels are 19.4 ng/mol on Feb 2024 Vit B 12 is at 211 The other ENT gave 5 injection in the ear drum My ear ringing has reduced a bit and can see some improvement in hearing too Tinnitus fluctuate but not high as in previous months after injection When Can I expect recovery with injection and vitamin d levels once normal restore the hearing and tinnitus ? Pls help:(

Tinnitus can be a manifestation of the SNHL you have, due to nerve weakening. Since you have improvement with Injections into the ear drum, continuing the rest of the course would be good. In addition there could be some improvement with Zincovit and Ginkobiloba tablets, but you will possibly benefit more from tinnitus retraining therapy, which is offered at more audiometry centres.
