Dermtaophytes causing fungal infection have become resistant to terbinafine and fluconazole. They are responding to itraconazole but at a higher dose and need to be used for 6 weeks or more continuously. Along with oral itraconazole, plain antifungal cream has to be used. Never use antifungal cream combined with steroid. Using combination creams containing steroids is the single most cause resulting in resistant fungal infection.
