Hello doctor, I'm 11weeks pregnant now. No previous history of thyroid earlier. I got a TSH done and the results are 3.71. Do I need to take any medicine for this level? Or not required?

You need to take medication for thyroid because the iodine supplements for the baby will be taken from you if you have less amount it will not be able to meet the demand of the baby
Compulsory you need to take medication
As per old guidelines tsh cut off is 2.5 for first trimester new guidelines it is 4 so as per guidelines we don’t start on treatment but in regular practice we r following cut off 2.5 and start u on lowdose medication doesn’t cause u much harm risk benefit ratio is favors usage of low dose
Hi there, don't worry, it's in the normal range. I suggest you take video consultation for nutrition and supplements during early pregnancy for healthy growth of baby.
