Throat Irritation & Pain
I've had irritation and pain in my throat since yesterday morning, probably due to heavy partying the night before (alcohol and smoking). i've done 2 betadine gargles but it hasn't had much effect. there also seems to be a feeling of some sort of swelling inside, and it feels warm on the inside as well. please let me know what i can do and if continuing the betadine gargles will help.

Hi. Do you smoke regularly? If not, the sudden smoke exposure could have irritated the throat. However, if you are noticing swelling inside the throat, it is best that you visit an ENT specialist near you for a thorough examination and treatment. Endoscopic visualization of the throat may be helpful. Betadine gargles may be continued if you are unable to organise the visit to the hospital/ENT clinic soon.
