Ever since I started having severe allergy attacks my veins in legs have become thick and visible while walking. They become normal when I sit down but again appear while walking or running. I don't think it is varicose veins . Is it some form of atherosclerosis due to action of mast cells on blood vessels ?

The only visible blood vessel is vein so it has to do something with varicose veins. Meet a vascular surgeon for opinion.
