Contrary to common belief, tetanus vaccine is NOT required in all wounds,it's mandatory if wound is very deep,e.g stab or deep cut,and secondly,if extensive skin loss is present, like in third degree burns. Just wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water and then apply savlon. Routine vaccines as per age should never be delayed too much,Tdap should have been given before 5 th Birthday,so DO give it asap.
