Hello , I am Dr.Irfan CHHERAWALA Practicing Dental Surgeon You may be right . It may be due to your malaligned teeth and if it is so , the cheek bite can be corrected by selective refining of the plunger and sharp cusps of teeth. Braces may not be required
Next Steps
immediately visit a dentist , before the condition worsens. An OPG X-Ray will give a clear picture.
Health Tips
Avoid applying any ointment or finger in the effected areas . Thank You. Please take care. Get well soon.

Hello Dear, By Teeth irritation - if you mean grinding or pressure or discomfort on teeth. Then it is known as Bruxism / Clenching. How to identify ? 1. At night/ day ask your family members if your teeth produce any noise while you are asleep? 2. When you are concentrating on any work/ stress just try  to recall if your upper and lower teeth and jaws are constantly  pressing onto each other or if your teeth have flat worn out surfaces then it's a sign that you are a bruxer. 3. Non alignment of teeth can cause  grinding due to interferences in bite. So partly you are correct it can be one of the cause of your clenching and irritation. 4. What will work better in your case if your are a bruxer would be a clear aligner or transparent BPA free plastic trays. They are like a cover on your teeth to bring teeth into alignment. 5  Braces will be more discomforting. And require multiple visits. 6  Aligners will protect your teeth from grinding  as well  so dual benefit of alignment and bruxism also. Braces don't protect simultaneously during alignment.
Next Steps
Visit a Specialist for assessment of your bite and clean aligners ORAL scan.
