Swelling back of neck under hairline

Asked for Male, 33 Years

I have small swelling in the back of neck is painless , soft , mobile , normal skin color. There is no symtoms of fever, night sweating, loss of appetite but am very anxious about it though it is not hampering my day to day activities. What would be the probable reason . Is serious or worried about ? . For your reference attached picture of nape of neck , usg reports.

Since when you have this swelling? Is it increasing in size ? Any other swelling in neck? Any history of diabetes/ tuberculosis? From the description, it seems to be a lipoma ( benign fat tumour). But ultrasound is suggestive of infection ( which is usually painful).

Next Steps

there are 2 options 1. If the swelling has been there for quite sometime, you can observe and notice change/increase in size with time. 2. If it is of recent onset, then likely possibility of infection is higher. You need take course of Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory. For antibiotics please consult on personal chat.
