Suspection of Gestational Cholestasis
My wife has itchy palm and legs since a week and she is now at 36 weeks of pregnancy. Her SGOT/SGPT levels are 106/203. We have given blood test for Total Bile Acid test to verify but it will take 6-10 days for results to come. We are in USA and its not that easy here. So would like to know if ICP(Gestational Cholestasis) is a problem for mother and the baby? Please respond. Thanks,

I am surprised . On  the on the one side you say that "you are in the USA and here it is not easy". At the same time you want to find out from an Indian Doctor whether ICP is a problem for the mother or the baby. Do you seriously think that the Doctors in the USA will be influenced by what the Indian Doctors say? Or do you want to do self treatment for your wife like they conducted a delivery in the Movie, "Three Idiots " ? Please be rational. Incidentally in India we get Bile Acids report within 24 hours. You should come to India for the sake of your wife's and your baby's health.
