Suspecting Gestational Diabetes
I am 21 weeks pregnant and I have been experiencing symptoms of Type II diabetes. My mother in law is a diabetic and my husband has not been tested yet. Is there a chance that I have a higher risk of developing gestational diabetes? Should I take a glucose tolerance test soon?

You should discuss about your symptoms with your gynecologist. In some cases,  screening for gestational diabetes is indeed  done earlier than 28 weeks if there is suspicion. Also,  gdm is common if your blood relatives are diabetic, so in your case it wont matter if your husband / mother in law is diabetic.
