Delayed period due to uti infection is common. But now she is treated well and side effect like nausea ,vomiting its due to drug reaction .no worry its settled own in 2 to 3 days.
From the urine routine report:
• Pus cells: 18–20 /hpf → Elevated
• RBC: 8–10 /hpf → Present
• Slightly turbid urine
• Trace protein
• Culture (not shown clearly, assuming pending/negative)
These findings are consistent with a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI).
Her initial symptoms (burning urination, pain) support this.
Now:
• Burning improved after Urispas + Nitrofurantoin (Matrifur)
• But she has nausea
• Right-sided lower abdominal tenderness
• Period delayed by 10 days
Important Considerations:
1️⃣ UTI is confirmed by urine routine
2️⃣ Right lower abdominal pain raises concern for:
• Ovarian pain
• Ovulation-related pain
• Appendicitis (if severe, worsening)
• Kidney involvement (if flank pain, fever)
3️⃣ Delayed period (10 days)
At 16 years:
• Irregular cycles are common
• Infection and stress can delay periods
• But pregnancy should always be ruled out if sexually active
Nausea could be:
• Due to Nitrofurantoin (very common side effect)
• Due to hormonal delay
• Due to anxiety
• Rarely due to upper UTI
Next Steps
✔ 1. Check for Red Flags Immediately
Go to emergency if:
• Fever
• Vomiting
• Severe right lower abdominal pain
• Pain increasing on movement
• Back/flank pain
Because that may indicate:
• Appendicitis
• Pyelonephritis
⸻
✔ 2. Pregnancy Test (Important if sexually active)
Even at 16, this must be clinically clarified.
Delayed period + nausea → always rule out pregnancy.
⸻
✔ 3. Continue Antibiotic Properly
If Matrifur (Nitrofurantoin) was prescribed:
• Complete full course (usually 5 days)
Take after food to reduce nausea.
⸻
✔ 4. If Right-Sided Pain Persists
Do:
• Ultrasound abdomen & pelvis
To rule out:
• Ovarian cyst
• Appendicitis
• Pelvic cause
Health Tips
✔ Increase water intake
✔ Avoid holding urine
✔ Take antibiotic after meals
✔ Avoid spicy/junk food during recovery
✔ Monitor temperature daily
✔ Track next menstrual cycle
Most likely this is a simple UTI with medication-related nausea and stress-related delayed cycle — but right lower abdominal tenderness should not be ignored if persistent.
If you can share:
• Does she have fever?
• Is the pain constant or only on pressing?
• Is urine culture report available?
I can guide you precisely whether this is routine UTI recovery or something needing urgent scan.
For a structured evaluation and to prevent complications in a young girl, I recommend booking a focused online consultation so we can review the reports properly and decide whether imaging is necessary.

Urine report shows UTI (urine infection) — pus cells 18–20 and RBC 8–10 confirm infection. Medicines given (Urispas and Matrifur) are correct, and improvement in burning is a good sign.
Nausea is likely a side effect of the antibiotic — give medicine after food.
Right lower abdominal pain can be due to bladder infection or delayed periods.
Periods can get delayed due to infection, stress, or hormonal changes at this age.
Continue full antibiotic course, give plenty of fluids, and monitor symptoms.
