Your reports show early diabetes. A fasting sugar of 133 mg/dl and an HbA1c of 6.9 percent are both above the normal range. Normally, fasting sugar should be below 100, and HbA1c below 5.6. Values between 5.7 and 6.4 indicate prediabetes, and 6.5 or more confirms diabetes. The good news is that this level is still mild and can often be controlled with lifestyle changes. Focus on a balanced low glycemic diet, early dinner, and reducing refined carbohydrates like white rice, maida, and sweets. Include regular walking or yoga for at least 30 minutes a day, and try to keep stress under control. If needed, a doctor may start a low dose of medicine to help lower sugar and protect your pancreas. You can connect with me on Practo for a one-on-one discussion so we can plan your diet and sugar control properly.
